Windows, Apple or Raspberry Pi?

Microsoft or Mac - that is the big question. However what if you are a fiercely independent type - then you may be a Linux person. What many do not realize these days is GUI aside Linux and Lion are UNIX cousins.

Linux is a Unix-like computer operating system assembled under the model of free and open source software development and distribution. The defining component of Linux is the Linux kernel, an operating system kernel first released 5 October 1991 by Linus Torvalds.

We feel it is important to acknowledge Linux because what many may not know is that while windows may still hold sway in desktops - Linux and Unix have long been the preferred server environments. Also here is a piece of trivia the UNIX kernel keeps MACs so stable.

The Raspberry Pi is a credit-card sized computer that plugs into your TV and a keyboard. It’s a capable little PC which can be used for many of the things that your desktop PC does, like spreadsheets, word-processing and games. It also plays high-definition video.

We are sharing this device because it can give you an idea of how small a working desktop computer can be as well as a glance into the possible future of computing (imagine this connected to the cloud).

Want to know the shock - this is a $35 working computer! You can learn more http://www.raspberrypi.org/
